First glimpse of Lisa Wilkinson on The Project

Stop what you’re doing, because it’s the footage we have all been waiting for... Lisa Wilkinson has officially joined The Project desk.

Ten has released commercials promoting Lisa’s imminent arrival on the nightly news and current affairs program, and she looks right at home.

The beloved 58-year-old is shown on the desk with co-hosts Waleed Aly, Carrie Bickmore and Peter Helliar.

The promo features a voiceover asking the question, “In 2018, guess who’s coming to The Project?”

After Peter attempts to sort through an array of various options, including some hilarious (and unlikely) possibilities - Hugh Jackman, Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes, the “woman from Game of Thrones” - Lisa is revealed in all her glory.

In October last year, Lisa’s shock departure from Nine’s breakfast show Today made headlines around the country.

Within an hour of the announcement being made on Twitter, Ten revealed she was joining The Project, taking on a senior editorial and hosting role. This would include hosting The Sunday Project and sitting alongside the other hosts on weekday editions of the show.

Following this announcement, Ten also hired Lisa as the executive editor of Ten Daily, the network’s forthcoming new website.
