Mira Sorvino's dad wants to 'kill' Harvey Weinstein
Mira Sorvino‘s dad is speaking out against Harvey Weinstein after his daughter accused the former Hollywood mogul of sexual harassment.
Paul Sorvino says he wants to "kill" the disgraced movie producer, after Mira bravely came forward with her story of abuse that she said left her scared of Weinstein for more than 20 years.
Talking to TMZ, the protective father of the Oscar winning actress revealed he's not sure he'd be able to control himself were he ever to cross paths with the movie producer.
“If I meet [Weinstein] on the street — he oughta hope that he goes to jail," he told the publication. "Because if we come across, I think he’ll be lying on the floor, somehow, magically."
“He’s going to go to jail. Oh yeah. That son of a bit*h," he added. "Good for him if he goes, because if not, he has to meet me. And I will kill the motherf**cker. Real simple.”
Paul also revealed he had been completely unaware of his daughter’s alleged experience with Weinstein until she came forward alongside other women in an exposé in the New Yorker and later penned a personal piece for Time.
In both, she alleged he sexually harassed her at the Toronto International Film Festival in 1995.
Recalling how he invited her back to a hotel room, she said Weinstein the “started massaging my shoulders" making her "very uncomfortable."
"Then tried to get more physical, sort of chasing me around,” she said, before making up multiple excuses to deflect his advances and fleeing the room.
Admitting he was “furious” he put aside his anger to praise his "courageous and wonderful" daughter. “If I had known it, he would not be walking. He’d be in a wheelchair.”
“My daughter... doesn’t deserve to have been treated that way by this pig,” he said. “This pig will get his comeuppance. The law will get him. He’s going to go to jail and die in jail.”
In October, the Mighty Aphrodite star Mira was among a slew of women who claimed to have been sexually harassed or assaulted by Miramax owner, Harvey Weinstein.
Last month, Bad Santa director Zwigoff revealed Weinstein strongly advised him not to cast Mira Sorvino in his movies, unaware it was because she rejected his advances.
I was interested in casting Mira Sorvino in BAD SANTA, but every time I mentioned her over the phone to the Weinsteins, I'd hear a CLICK. What type of person just hangs up on you like that?! I guess we all know what type of person now. I'm really sorry Mira. https://t.co/9U0PsL2yS5

Despite his heavy threat towards Weinstein, Mira has tweeted support for her father.
My love for my father has only continued to grow since this moment. All the love in my heart! He is the most loving father, the most brilliant actor, the most beautiful operatic tenor, the most talented visual artist- the wisest and most human advice giver, & best Grandpa ever!! https://t.co/H1u1IYj6f8
