Kelly Clarkson freaks out when she sees Meryl Streep
Kelly Clarkson had a minor melt-down after spotting Meryl Streep on the Golden Globes red carpet after an E! interview with Ryan Seacrest.
The 35-year-old singer had finished her pre-show interview and was being helped down the stairs by the TV presenter when she suddenly turned around and gasped, "Thats' Meryl, Thats Meryl!".
"I thought you tripped!" was Ryan's initial response.
Then a red-faced Kelly screamed, "Oh my god, can I meet you, you're my idol!" as she approached the 68-year-old actress.
"I love everyone but I've just adored you since i was eight!" she screamed at the actress.
The fan-girl moment comes after Kelly hit back at online criticism on her decision to smack her daughter.
"I'm not above spanking, which people aren't necessarily into," the 35-year-old singer told Radio.com.
"I don't mean, like, hitting her hard. My parents spanked me and I did fine in life and I feel fine about it.
"I'm from the South y'all, so we get spankings."
