Christie Whelan Browne slams trolls over rape threats
The Wrong Girl's Christie Whelan Browne has clapped back at Twitter trolls, who threatened to rape and spit on her after she went public with claims that Craig McLachlan sexually assaulted her.
Christie, 35, spoke out against the Logie-winning actor along with Home and Away star Erika Heynatz and Angela Scundi, accusing him of various instances of sexual misconduct whilst working on the cult musical The Rocky Horror Show in 2014, something McLachlan has fervently denied.
The award winning theatre star — who claims McLachlan pulled up her underwear and kissed her buttocks whilst only she was visible on stage — took to Twitter to defend herself against the trolls accusing her of making up the story for money.
To those claiming that I did this for money:
A) There are no paid interviews.
B) I have paid my own legal fees
C) I risked never being hired again.
I just don’t understand where you think I’m getting any money?— Christie Whelan (@Christie_Whelan) January 8, 2018
The people who have tweeted me to say they hope I get raped, hope I never work again &that they wish to spit in my face are incredibly hard to ignore. But the amount of love is drowning them out. So I thank you. Rising above is hard, but I’m trying.

They said that when I FB’d about my experience with Don Burke. Simply ignorant to how the system works. Don’t let it get to you sweetie 🦋

Since the initial story broke, more have come forward with stories.
Fresh claims come from a runner on a TV drama, who said McLachlan made lewd remarks about her breasts while she was driving him to the airport in 2008.
A tanning salon worker also came forward and said Craig kissed her without her permission in 2004.
