Exclusive: Why Clean Bandit should be on your music radar

They’re the UK trio who have captured our attention with a refreshing take on modern pop music and big-name collaborations including Zara Larson, Sean Paul and Julia Michaels.

Now it seems things are only going to get bigger and better for Clean Bandit, who revealed exclusively to Be what’s next for them and their music.

Made up of brothers, Jack and Luke Patterson alongside Grace Chatto, Clean Bandit playfully explore a crossover of classical and electronica resulting in some of the hottest tracks in the charts including, ‘Rather Be (feat. Jess Glynne)' and ‘Rockabye (ft. Sean Paul & Anne-Marie).'

When it comes to choosing who they collaborate with, it seems the band tend to enjoy working with strong female vocalists after working with Zara Larsson and most recently Julia Michaels.

“I think it’s just definitely been a trend that’s worked for us” Jack admitted.

“It’s usually us that reach out to them,” he continued, revealing he has his sights set on working with Lana Del Ray and ‘Havana’ singer Camila Cabello next.

But that’s not the only thing to get excited about, as Jack hinted at a new album idea this time featuring all male collaborations.

“We are definitely looking to work with more males… actually we are looking to do a new album ‘Lads’ featuring male artists.”

Patterson went on to say this time he would love to give the album an ‘Rnb’ feel featuring artists like Pharrell Williams.

With all these ideas floating around, it’s fair to say Clean Bandit is going to be the band to watch this year.

In the meantime, Clean Bandit will be performing their first Aussie headline shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne on the 25th, 26th and 27th of January.

And in embracing some Australia Day spirit over the weekend Jack said he would be celebrating the occasion by making a trip down to Canberra and having a couple of cold ones with local mates. Classic!
