Manu Feildel has married fiancée Clarissa Weerasena
My Kitchen Rules host Manu Feildel has revealed he married his long-time fiancée Clarissa Weerasena in a secret ceremony last week.
The celebrity chef has spilled the beans on his intimate wedding, saying he cried on his big day because he's a "big, soft bear!"
Talking to New Idea magazine, he gushed about his big day which had been put on hold after they welcomed their daughter Charlee, three.
"Of course I cried but it was happiness, not nerves," he told the publication. "I could not hold onto my feelings. I'm a big, soft bear!"
The 44-year-old went on to describe how the stars aligned for the couple, who planned the ceremony in just three months, and had just 20 guests.
"I believe in destiny," he said. "Maybe we weren't ready a year or two ago. We are now!"
The French chef explained the wedding was "a long time coming" — featuring his 13-year-old son Jonti, as a groomsman and little Charlee as a flower girl.
Clarissa told the publication the pair were already "married in spirit" but had struggled to keep her emotions in check as she walked down the aisle at the exclusive Elandra Resort in North Queensland to John Legend's All Of Me.
She stunned in a full-length gown from Melbourne designer, One Day Bridal.
Manu also talked about their big day on Sunrise as he sat alongside Pete Evan's as they prepared for the 2018 season of MKR, which starts tonight on Channel Seven.
"Finally, the ring is here," he said, flashing his newly placed wedding band. "We're very happy."
Pete chipped in, joking he cooked the wedding food.
