Manu Fieldel slams MKR contestants
It comes to no surprise that the first episode of My Kitchen Rules was going to boil over, with it being relentlessly reported that two contestants get booted off the show in a manner that will be a "series first."
Now chef judge Manu Fieldel has spoken out saying that the behaviour he's witnessed in this season of the cooking series is "unacceptable," speaking in an interview to Confidential on Tuesday.
The 44-year-old chef continued that the drama outweighed the shows real purpose, which was to cook.
"It is a cooking show," she said. "That is why we had to remind them."
"There is always fighting in competition and if someone wants to win they can take it a bit too far," he continued.
It comes after the chef spoke with TV Week weighing in on the cooking show and its success.
"It's all about ratings," he revealed to the outlet. "If the show doesn't rate, we don't have a job."
And after almost a decade being a judge on My Kitchen Rules it seems he may be ready to hang up the apron.
"If you've got a good crew, and a good batch of people who are fun, it's great," he said.
"But sometimes when they get you around the table, you go 'You know I really don't want to be here,'" he admitted.
Meanwhile, Manu has just tied the knot with now wife Clarissa Weerasena in a private ceremony last Monday.
Manu has a son Jonti, 13 from a previous relationship and the couple have daughter Charlee, who turns three this month.
