Ange and kids 'in lockdown' after split from Brad

A year and a half after her very public split from husband Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie has described her life as being 'in lockdown'.

The 42-year-old actress revealed that she and her six children have been keeping a low profile as the family settles into their new life in separate homes - but the time is just about right for them to start branching out again.

"We’ve all been a bit in lockdown," she told People, "I think they're itching to get out of the world again."

Angelina went on to say she's had her fair share of 'ups and downs' since the split, but her priority has always been her children's well-being.

"We all have our difficult times, but as a mother you also have a responsibility first and foremost towards the kids," she said.

"They are going through their formative years and everything else comes second to that."

Angelina and her son Maddox Jolie-Pitt, 16 have been working alongside one another in her upcoming drama First They Killed My Father, a Netflix series that follows the life of Angelina's friend Long Ung.

The series based on her memoir is about how she survived the Khmer Rouge genocide in Cambodia.

Maddox has played a significant role in the production and also served as a set photographer.

First They Killed My Father premieres on Netflix on February 9, 2018.
