Angelina’s advice for her daughters is why we love her

Angelina Jolie has opened up in a recent interview with Elle magazine revealing her advice she gives to her three daughters ahead of International Women's Day.

Speaking to Secretary of State John Kerry, the mother-of-six said, "I tell my daughters, 'What sets you apart is what you are willing to do for others," she said.

The 42-year-old continued, "Anyone can put on a dress and makeup, it's your mind that will define you. Find out who you are, what you think, and what you stand for. And fight for others to have those same freedoms. A life of service is worth living."

The actress also opened up about her ongoing support and devotion to her campaign, which fights against the use of rape and sexual violence as weapons of war, and to fight for women's equality and freedom.

"When it comes down to it, we still treat violence against women as a lesser crime," the actress confessed.

"In some countries sexual violence is less of a taboo discussion, it's something more people expect their leaders to act on."

Meanwhile, Ange and her son Maddox Jolie-Pitt, 16, have been working together in her upcoming drama First They Killed My Father, a Netflix series that follows the life of Angelina's friend Long Ung.

The series based on her memoir is about how she survived the Khmer Rouge genocide in Cambodia.

Maddox has played a significant role in the production and also served as a set photographer.

First They Killed My Father premieres on Netflix on February 9, 2018.
