I'm A Celeb fans accuse Paul Burrell of 'cashing in' on Diana

It looks like the 2018 Australian season of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! is relying on plenty of international star power to keep the jungle antics alive.

On Monday night two big British names arrived in South Africa - Princess Diana's butler Paul Burrell and Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison.

But many viewers are far from impressed with Burrell's involvement in the Channel Ten reality show, believing he's trying to "cash in" on the late royal's tragic death once again.

"Paul Burrell is the slimiest piece of sh*t, as if he couldn’t cash in on Diana more than he already has, hopefully he loses his passport and he stays there xx (sic)," one viewer wrote on Twitter.

Meanwhile another penned: "#ImACelebrityAU let’s start taking bets now, how long will it take Paul Burrell to drop Diana’s name when he gets to the camp and meets everyone?"

Social media sarcasm was at its peak following Monday night's episode, with another viewer tweeting: "Paul Burrell on his 100th reality show since Princess Di died".

But one fan did make note that the former butler might not be able to spill too much, due to legal grounds.

"Bet the non disclosure agreement Paul signed with the royal family won’t provide too much info #imacelebrityau," the viewer tweeted.

The 59-year-old, who served as Diana's butler for a decade, has been quite vocal about the royal family since Di's death in 1997.

Along with a published book and a major claim he was "the only man she ever trusted", Burrell hasn't been shy to speak about Diana during his various reality television stints.

Back in 2004 he starred in the UK version of I'm A Celeb, placing as runner-up in the fourth series.

He has also appeared in Australian Princess and Celebrity Big Brother.

Meanwhile Geordie Shore bombshell Vicky is of course no stranger to reality TV.

The 30-year-old brunette shot to fame on the popular UK program, recently postponed her wedding to John Noble, making it rather convenient for her to make a glam appearance in the jungle.

And she may also be at a great advantage, as she previously won the UK series of the reality show back in 2015.

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! airs at 7:30pm on Channel 10.
