Diana's butler: 'She knew her marriage was over after Harry'
Princess Diana's butler Paul Burrell has been spilling the beans about the late royal on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! and Sunday night was no different.
He recalled a story Diana had told him about the birth of Harry and how she knew her 'marriage was over' to Prince Charles following the delivery of the newborn.
"[Charles] wasn't at the birth," he explained. "Harry is lying in the cot, and he said, 'Red hair, I suppose that's a Spencer gene.'"
When Diana asked her husband if he was 'pleased' with his new son he simply replied, "I'm delighted, I now have a heir and a spare."
Paul explained Diana had told him Charles was dressed up in black tie ready to go to the theatre with his mistress Camilla Parker-Bowles.
"He said, 'My work is done, isn't it now? I'm off to the theatre with Camilla'," Paul recalled.
The 59-year-old claims this was the moment when Diana knew her 'marriage was over'.
"She said, 'On the night that Harry was born, I cried myself to sleep, knowing my marriage was over'," he said.
Last week, Paul also discussed who Prince Harry's real father is.
He said he 'absolutely' believes Prince Charles is Harry's father, and entirely dismissed the possibility of Diana's ex, James Hewitt, being the dad.
