MAFS star Alycia's inspiring 30kg weight loss
She's already left the show after her 'husband' Mat Lockett called time on their relationship, but Married At First Sight contestant Alycia Galbraith has something else to smile about — her incredible 30kg weight loss.
The unlucky-in-love star revealed she has recently learnt to love herself after a 'toxic' relationship with food and showed off her transformation in a post on Instagram.
"Despite my smile, I wasn’t a happy person in the photo on the left," she wrote. "I was in a bad relationship I didn’t have the strength to leave at the time, I was constantly criticised for the way I looked and rebelled by eating more."
"People ask me how I succeeded in changing my appearance and I truly believe that a positive mind attracts wonderful things."
The 29-year-old student — who was left heartbroken when her hubby walked away from her on national TV — said she'd been nervous to share her before and after photos but was doing so to help others.
"I got rid of anything/anyone toxic in my life, altered my diet and within 3 months I lost the first 12kgs," she said. "Over time I’ve managed to lose more than 30kgs and now feel the best I ever have!"
Fans of the reality star have been quick to praise Alycia, saying her dedication to her health was 'inspiring'.
"You look amazing, commitment at its highest, well done," one wrote, with another adding, "Takes a lot of guts and determination.. well done beautiful girl."
When her TV romance came to an abrupt end, the student from Adelaide said she was 'really, really' upset.
"I don't know where the Mat that I married went," she told The Fix.
With rumours swirling she's now dating fellow contestant Ryan — who was sensationally cheated on during the show — we're sure this inspirational babe won't be on the market for much longer.
