Alexandra Daddario was 'afraid no one will believe' her #MeToo claims

Recent sexual harassment and sexual assault allegations that have rocked Hollywood have seen the emergence of the #MeToo movement, and now actress Alexandra Daddario has weighed in on the current situation in the industry.

The star admitted she's had her own issues in the industry, while chatting exclusively to Be ahead of the DVD release of her filmThe Layover.

"I've had my own problems," the 31-year-old said. "But not with anyone who's been spoken about in the press."

In terms of the current issues in the industry and round the world, the star believes there is a 'societal problem' with the way women are treated and also a 'fear of speaking up'.

"I know that I've had that problem where I've been afraid of speaking up," Alex admitted. "Afraid that no one will believe me, afraid of the repercussions."

While she was candid about her struggles and supportive of the #MeToo movement, the star did reveal she wasn't 'fully ready to talk publicly about things'.

"But I don't know any woman that hasn't had some issue with somebody abusing their power or making them feel small," Alex explained. "Every woman has had to deal with something that was not fair."

The Baywatch star also shared with Be, her passion to change the future for young women.

"I want to change things for young women, so that they don't have to go through what others have," she said.
