Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr has married her long-term boyfriend Orlando Bloom overnight, just one month after announcing their engagement.
The couple married over night, the Nine Network reported this morning, quoting a statement released through department store David Jones, for whom Kerr is a brand ambassador.
Despite releasing the statement through David Jones, Kerr has cancelled her appearance at its upcoming fashion launch.
"We have been trying to plan this for some time and unfortunately the only window of opportunity for our honeymoon fell at the same time as the David Jones fashion launch," Kerr said in the statement.
"David Jones very graciously released me during this period so we could celebrate an intimate ceremony and honeymoon together," Kerr added.
Kerr, raised in NSW country town Gunnedah, first met the "Pirates of the Carribean" star Bloom in 2006, backstage at a Victoria's Secret lingerie fashion show in New York.
Rumours have also been rife in recent months that Kerr would soon announce her first pregnancy. This was not confirmed in today's statements, although the supermodel has previously stated that "Orlando would be a great dad."
