Known more now for her status as a 'fallen-star' than any of her film or music credits, Lindsay Lohan has been hanging out in rehab lately post jail. Given that the starlet knows addiction and rehab from first-hand experience, word went out this week about her desire to open her own rehab centre. Not sure it's such a wise idea given her reputation, but hey, that didn't stop fashion house Emanuel Ungaro giving her a role as an 'artistic advisor' last year (and yes, there were cries of 'call the fashion police').
Whilst rom-com queen Jennifer Aniston has conquered the fictionalised worlds of film and tv, recently rumours have been circulating about the notoriously private Jen doing a reality TV show. Given that a lot of the world loves to hate her, it could be a very viable side project.
Love them or hate them, the Kardashian sisters (from L-R Kim, Khloe and Kourtney) are an enterprising lot. From their own reality tv series (and subsequent spin-offs) to their own fashion label (DASH) and homewares, the trio have just released an official prepaid Kardashian MasterCard. What's next for the sassy trio?

Is there nothing this super-woman won't do? This former 'IT' girl has amazing business wit, venturing out into reality television, homewares, clothing, swimwear and more with her sisters. But on the solo path, Kim has been seen lately stepping in and out of the recording studio. Rumour has it she's working on an album with music producer The-Dream (akaTerius Youngdell Nash). Fingers crossed Kim has a better vocal abilities than her ex-BFF Paris Hilton.

At just 16, this boy-wonder popstar has taken the world by storm. Apparently the music world was not enough for this popstar, with The Biebs also making a biopic about his rise to the top and a bio-picture book. His smartest side project though has been to team up with nail polish giants OPI to create a collection of shades, called "One Less Lonely Girl."
"Material Girl" and queen of pop, Madonna, has had a variety of side projects in her long career. This year alone the superstar launched a fashion line with daughter Lourdes (Material Girl for Macy's), debuted as a feature film director ("W.E." with Abbie Cornish) and also opened her first 'Hard Candy' Gym (expected to be a global franchise in the future). Phew - that's enough for one year Madonna!
Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, of Jersey Shore reality fame, announced in September this year that she would be releasing a book called "It's a Shore Thing." Sounds like a literary genius in the making.
Katie Price, aka Jordan, a former 'glamour model,' released her latest novel (yes, she wrote more than one!) in July this year, "Paradise." The best part about this side project was her marketing strategy - turning up to the launch party in a black swimsuit bearing the book's cover art. Katie also released a boutique range of decorated iPods in August, and wore an iPod tiara to the launch accompanied by a silver jumpsuit. The girl has her marketing strategies down pat.

An unusual but heart-warming side project from this year from pop diva Beyonce. Beyonce opened a cosmetology centre in March with her mother at Phoenix House, a rehab centre. The Beyonce Cosmetology Centre aims to provide a seven-month training course for participants so when they leave rehab they have skills in cosmetics that can provide them with paid work. Beyonce's "Halo" is definately shining.
