One of the New York Observer's longest-serving film critics, Rex Reed, has made his film review of 'Identity Thief,' starring Melissa McCarthy and Jason Bateman a scathing, personal attack.

Read the full scathing review here

He starts out by calling the screenplay "trashy and stupefying," before moving onto a blow-by-blow description of what's wrong with film's plot, referring to it as a "chunk of junk."

While the review language is harsh (we're not saying it isn't entirely true), it's Reed's personal attack on lead actress Melissa McCarthy that is most astounding. He refers to her as "tractor-sized" in one sentence before going on to describe her as a "female hippo" in another.

And just in case anyone missed the point of his vicious attack on Melissa, he let loose with one final slaying.

"Melissa McCarthy is a gimmick comedian who has devoted her short career to being obese and obnoxious with equal success."

Ouch.
