Tom Hanks Was Reunited With Wilson From 'Castaway'

After nearly 15 long years apart, Tom Hanks and his volleyball BFF Wilson have finally gotten their happy ending.

The Oscar-winning actor — who played a desert-island dweller in 1999’s Cast Away — attended the New York Rangers game on Wednesday night, which was probably a distraction tactic he uses to get his mind off of his old lost pal.

Luckily, the Madison Square Garden in-house entertainment unit, which misses few opportunities to highlight the celebrities that visit, had a special surprise waiting in the wings.

In a scene so beautiful that it could have melted the iciest heart and/or rink of ice, Hanks was reunited with Wilson, who looks like he was given a nice scrub down at some point in the last decade and a half.

Though no players have confirmed it, our guess is that this wonder scene inspired the Rangers to their come-from-behind victory.

Maybe other teams across the country will want to buy an inspirational Wilson of their own.
