Guardian writer Benjamin Lee didn’t think a great deal to the movie, in which Hardy plays both Ronnie and Reggie Kray, the gangster brothers who ruled the London underworld in the 1960s.
He afforded it a lowly two stars in his review, and describing it as, among other things, "cartoonish" (many other reviewers have discussed its flaws too, mind, so Lee was not out there on his own).
But, rather cleverly, it now appears front and centre on one of the movie’s promo posters.
Thanks to its positioning, you could be forgiven for thinking that there are another couple of stars hiding just behind Tom Hardy’s lugholes.
But no. It’s still just the two.
Lee himself has offered a nod to the rather brazen positioning, tweeting:

Also worth checking out in this regard is the excellent Awful Reviews feed, which couples movie posters with some of the movie’s very worst notices.
