He’s joined by Chuck - Frozen's Josh Gad - one of the spinning yellow birds, and Bomb, voiced by Eastbound and Down's Danny McBride, who are all attending anger management classes.

Arriving on the island to cause trouble are the pigs, lead by former Saturday Night Live don Bill Hader as Leonard.

According to producer John Cohen (also behind Despicable Me), the plot is "the origin story for how that conflict came to exist between birds and little green piggies".

Also on the voice cast are top US comedy turns like Maya Rudolph (Bridesmaids), Kate McKinnon (SNL), Tony Hale (Arrested Development), Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele) and Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones).

There’s some time to wait still, though. The film isn’t due out in Aussie cinemas until May 12, 2016.
