We get some unexpected life advice from 'Grimsby' star Nobby Butcher

It’s safe to say our chat with Nobby Butcher, star of new film Grimsby, didn’t start off well.

‘Is this Jeff? Where’s my bloody dog?” he yelled as he answered the phone.

"I lent you my dog in f***ing December and it’s now almost summer! Where’s my bloody dog?"

Ladies and gents, meet Nobby Butcher (real talk: British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, who created such characters as Borat and Ali G), football hooligan and star of new comedy Grimsby.

Described as "the world's biggest idiot", Nobby is thrust into a bizarre adventure when he is reunited with his long-lost brother, a top spy for MI6, who is wrongly accused of a crime and must now attempt to save the world.

As to be expected, reigning in the man with the biggest personality - and most beautiful girlfriend - in the town of Grimsby for a serious conversation was no easy task.

"Sorry, I’m a little bit drunk. I say drunk, but I actually mean f***ed," he continued.

Somehow, we manage to coax some sage life advice from the father of nine - yes, nine - although it's not entirely the type that we needed (or wanted to hear).

"I once f***ed a [barbeque]," he offers, out of nowhere.

"They had to call the fire engine around, it took them literally two hours with tweezers and bloody forceps to get me out of there. We had burnt sausages all around. If you weren’t in Australia I’d show you the scars right now."

"If there are kids listening to this, don't f*** a barbie. It's really stupid, it's not sensible...[barbies] fight back."

Duly noted, Nobby.

So, what about Grimsby, you say?

"They basically paid me in chips and beer," he shared of his experience of being cast in a film.

"It’s got a bit of everything really. It’s got action, it’s got drama, it’s got some laughs," Nobby said.

"And for you Australians, it’s got a bit of bestiality!"

He also has some sort-of, not-really nice things to say about his co-star Mark Strong, who plays Nobby's brother Sebastian in the flick.

"He shoots rare birds. We would have to stop for a couple of hours every day in South Africa and he would shoot leopards and tigers and literally cut them up in front of the crew," Nobby joked.

"He's an absolute professional. A murderer of rare animals, but a bloody professional. Would I cast him in a movie? 100 per cent. Would I let him look after my pets? No f***ing way."

After finding fame thanks to his starring role in Grimsby, Nobby reveals keeping his nine children stable and happy has been a bit of a challenge.

"Well I’ve been bringing back a lot of lasses, to the house, so they’re finding that a challenge," he revealed of his current family situation.

"But I’ve bought all of them gifts from the movie… I stole Rebel Wilson’s AMEX card, so they love that."

And just when we thought Nobby Butcher was starting to open up to us, he yelled, "Do I know you? You didn’t steal me dog, did you?" and we know it's time to let him get back to his newfound movie star life.
