Michael Caine and Maisie Williams to star in Coup d'Etat

Sir Michael Caine and Maisie Williams are set to star in 'Coup d'Etat'.

The legendary actor and 'Game of Thrones' star will share the big screen for the comedy title and will jet off to America next month to begin filming.

Caine revealed: "I've got a picture that I made last year (Going In Style) but it's coming out next year, and I'll be doing a movie in America next month called 'Coup d'Etat'. It's not a romance, it's a comedy."

A full cast and director are yet to announced, however Coup d'Etat - which translates to 'takeover' in English - will focus on a savage ruler who befriends a young girl after they become pen pals.

Caine added to The Sun newspaper: "It's about a violent dictator with a young American pen friend - Maisie Williams, a little girl from 'Game of Thrones'."

Elsewhere, 'Going In Style ' sees the 83-year-old actor play Joe who, along with his friends Willie - played by Morgan Freeman - and Albert (Alan Arkin) tries to rob a bank.

The Zach Braff directed comedy is a reboot of the 1979 hit movie which followed three elderly friends living on the breadline who have had enough of their lives, scraping to make ends meat.

Caine was most recently seen in 'Youth' which starred Jane Fonda, Rachel Weiz and Harvey Keitel and Williams will be seen next in romantic comedy 'The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea' alongside Jason Sudeikis and Jessica Biel.
