Your new favourite Disney film is about to arrive...on Boxing Day this year.

For now, anxious fans will have to settle for the first teaser trailer for the latest offering from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Moana.

The film focus on a spirited teenager, Moana (played by Auli'i Cravalho), who sets out on a daring sailing mission to prove herself a master wayfinder and fulfill her ancestor's unfinished quests.

The teen is joined on her journey by demi-god Maui, voiced by the talented Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson.

Of course, the film has plenty to offer by way of cute creatures and enormous animals.

Moana hits Australian cinemas on December 26, 2016.
