Earlier this summer we saw the Spring Breakers alum play a snooty sorority girl in Neighbors 2, and now she can be seen opposite Paul Rudd and Craig Roberts in the road trip drama The Fundamentals of Caring.
You can get a good sense of Gomez’s Caring character in the exclusive clip above.
She plays the salty Dot, a drifter who tags along with Trevor (Roberts), an 18-year-old suffering from muscular dystrophy, and Ben (Rudd), the caregiver who takes Trevor on a cross-country jaunt to explore America’s most mundane roadside attractions (like the world’s deepest pit).
At the urging of Ben, Trevor also plots to visit the father who abandoned him at the age of three after he was diagnosed.
Based on the novel by Jonathan Evison and written and directed by Rob Burnett (a longtime writer on The Late Show With David Letterman), The Fundamentals of Caring debuted to strong reviews at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival. The movie is now streaming exclusively on Netflix.
