His latest movie is as much about the music as it is the storyline, and now Ansel Elgort has revealed exactly what tune gets him in a spin.
“My ultimate road trip song is Phil Weather’s Lovely Day because I like music that calms me down,” he told Be exclusively.
The Hollywood hunk was in Sydney for the premiere of his new action flick, Baby Driver, along with his co-star Lily James and director and creator, Edgar Wright.
Ansel plays the lead character Baby, a young getaway driver whose speedy escapes are fuelled by his pumping song choices, which play constantly in his ears to drown out his tinnitus.
“I loved learning how to drive fast and being completely different to my normal-self,” Ansel said. “Learning to drive like the way Baby does was so much fun.”
But it seems music isn’t the only thing 24-year-old Ansel enjoys listening to, with the actor confessing he has a soft spot for Lily’s onscreen Southern twang and her royally British tones.
“I think Lily’s accents are both great,” he told us. “But the more southern the better.”
Despite his sizzling on screen chemisty with Cinderall star, Lily, Ansel is happily loved up with his highschool sweetheart Violetta Komyshan.
BabyDriver is released across Australia today and has already become set to be Wright’s biggest ever blockbuster.
It also stars Jamie Foxx, Kevin Spacey and Jon Hamm.
With Ansel also letting slip to Be that he was allowed to keep the red Subaru he’s seen racing around in the movie, we’re sure he’ll be inviting us on that road trip any day now.
See ya soon B-A-B-Y!
