Australian Ninja Warrior slammed by viewers

Viewers raved about the show’s premiere on Sunday with some epic belly flopping, interesting Tarzan impersonations and a lot of abs.

But it seems Tuesday’s Australian Ninja Warrior didn’t have quite the same effect for viewers.

Contestants for the second instalment of the show included a Hollywood stuntman, Sheena the “fitness warrior”, Sam who lost his leg in a car accident and more.

What many viewers did not seem to appreciate was the amount of time allocated to explaining the contestants' “back stories”.

Some took to social media to point out that many of the contestants were extremely hyped up only to strike out almost immediately.

One viewer even pointed out how much more could be packed in “without all the wasted time on back stories”.

Some even said that Channel Nine was trying to make the action show like The Voice with all the back stories.

However, there were still plenty of entertaining moments including more epic fails and also some brilliant successes.

Many viewers were quite savage on Twitter about some contestants who were “fitness bloggers” with one user even admitting the bigger someone was on social media “the more we want to see them fail”.
