HBO 'accidentally' aired next episode of Game of Thrones

If you still haven't seen this week's GoT episode (err, what have you been doing?) then you probably don't want to read the below as it contains spoilers!

HBO have been having a tough time keeping the highly anticipated storylines of Game of Thrones under wraps after being targeted by hackers.

But this latest spoiler slip up is apparently all theirs!

In a blunder that would totally see someone's head roll in Westeros, HBO España and Nordic accidentally dropped episode 6 of the current season, four days early.

Oops.

It all happened because of a mix-up on their on-demand services, which allowed users to access the show prematurely.

Though the error was spotted and taken offline within an hour, it was long enough for fans to be able to see what happens next.

And boy what a joy that would be.

This week, GoT threw a lot of spectacular storylines our way, with Jon Snow going beyond the wall to capture a white walker, to convince Cersei of the Army of the Dead's existence.

Then there was the MAHOOSIVE bombshell hidden in the book Gilly was reading, regarding a record of an annulment for a prince named Rhaegar.

She basically just changed history, but Samwell was too busy sulking to notice the enormity of what she'd just discovered.

So, yeah. There's probably quite a few people out there who jump all over an illegal rip of the episode now it's been broadcast, which is what HBO definitely do not want to happen.

HBO Europe said in a statement that they had “learned that the upcoming episode of Game of Thrones was accidentally posted for a brief time on the HBO Nordic and HBO Espana platforms".

They added: “The error appears to have originated with a third party vendor and the episode was removed as soon as it was recognised".

Sadly, it appears they weren't quick enough with reports saying the episode is already online, and available in HD.
