Personalized Photo Valentines With A Touch Of YOU!

One of the best parts of Valentine's Day is handing out those adorable cards to your friends, classmates or coworkers (if you're the crafty type). Our holiday craft guru Jessica Hord has a creative approach to reinventing the typical Valentine's card. If you've got a camera and a big heart, this DIY is for you! Look below for instructions! Sucker Valentine You'll Need: — Camera — Hole punch — Permanent marker/Computer — Sucker Instructions: 1. Take a photo posing like you're holding a giant sucker in front of a plain background, like a blank wall (to keep things less distracting). 2. Print the photo at your favorite photo printing center. 3. Punch the first hole where your hands are shown in the picture. Punch the second hole about 1/4 of an inch below the first. You may need to trim the edges of your photo to give your hole punch access. 4. Using a permanent marker (or if you'd like to add a message using a computer, see note after step 5), write your message on the photo. 5. Insert the sucker into the holes and you're done! Follow this audio-less tutorial: Kiss Flip Book Valentine You'll Need: — Camera — Permanent marker — Hole punch — Ribbon/Twine Instructions: 1. Take a photo posing like you're blowing a kiss in front of a plain background, like a blank wall (to keep things less distracting). 2. Print five copies of the photo at your favorite photo printing center. 3. On the first photo, draw one heart using the permanent marker. On the second photo, draw two hearts and so on until you've drawn five hearts on the fifth photo. 4. Gather photos, in order of least to most hearts, and align before punching two holes opposite you in the photo. 5. Pull twine through holes and tie into a bow. Add a message with the permanent marker to the front, if you'd like, and you're done! Draw a large letter "I" on one poster board, a heart or the word "love" on the second board, and "you!" on the last poster board. 2. Gather the poster boards in order and take a series of photos in quick succession where you drop each board. Some cameras make this easy with shooting modes like "burst mode," "continuous shooting mode," "sports mode," or "continuous high-speed mode." If your camera isn't equipped with any of these shooting modes, you can also get the same effect by using a tripod or by putting the camera on something sturdy, moving slowly, and taking quick shots. 3. Print photos at your favorite photo printing center. 4. Punch two holes on the far left side of each photo. If you have too many photos to punch holes through at once, punch holes through one photo and use it as a guide for your other photos. 5. Pull twine through holes and tie into a bow. Add a message with the permanent marker to the last page, if you'd like, and you're done! Inspired by: Camille Styles
