Exclusive: Shailene Woodley reveals who she'd want to be stranded at sea with

Shailene Woodley has revealed exactly who she would want to be stranded at sea with – as she promotes her new film Adrift in which that exact scenario takes place.

While chatting about the film with co-star Sam Claflin and director Baltasar Kormákur for AOL’s Build series, the actress answered Be‘s question about who she would want with her on the “high seas for real”.

The 26-year-old joked Sam “should probably say [his] wife” and she “should probably say [her] boyfriend”.

However, surprisingly the actress said she would consider taking Sam with her out on the high seas.

“I do think after spending three months at sea together and knowing that we did not tear each other’s heads off,” she said.

“I mean when you spend that amount of time with someone and don’t hate the person at the end of the experience and care for them more and respect them I’d probably say [Sam].”

But Shailene said Baltasar, the director, would also have to come along.

“He’s the one who can actually sail,” Sam said chiming into the conversation. “We’d enjoy it.”

“We’d be the emotional support,” Shailene jokingly added.

Their new movie, Adrift, is based on a true story of two sailors, Tami Oldham (Shailene) and Richard Sharp (Sam) who set out to sail across the Pacific Ocean in 1983.

However, they sailed directly into a hurricane. Their boat is ruined and Richard is severely injured and Tami must find a way to save them both.
