Expert urges Palace to respond to desperate Thomas Markle
He’s publicly taken the stance that he “won’t be silenced” when it comes to reaching out to his estranged daughter Meghan Markle, and a royal expert claims the Palace needs to tackle Thomas Markle’s anger head on – or he won’t stop.
Royal commentator James Brookes claims that Thomas’ continued comments to the media – which include claims he might be better off for Meghan if he was dead – are not only hurting him, but Meghan, as well.
However it seems the frustrated 74-year-old has been left no choice in the wake of Meghan’s May wedding to Prince Harry.
“While there’s no response or recourse from the Palace, it seems likely the comments will keep on coming,” James told express.co.uk.
“Unless the Palace release a statement detailing any help they might have previously offered Thomas Markle that he might have refused plus any rebuke of his comments, we’ll be seeing a lot more of this kind of tittle-tattle.”
According to James, Thomas’ behaviour is “very hurtful to Meghan”, which would explain why the Palace has refused to respond.
It’s caused a stand-off of epic proportions, with Thomas hitting out at the notoriously publicity shy royal family by revealing he has no way of contacting his daughter.
“I used to have a phone number and text number for her personal aides at the Palace, but after I said a few critical words about the Royal Family changing Meghan, they cut me off,” Thomas told the Mail on Sunday.
Following a tell-all interview Thomas did with Good Morning Britain ten weeks ago, he claims he hasn’t heard from his daughter since.
With Thomas claiming he’d hate to die without seeing his daughter again, he’s slammed the royal family’s treatment and says they should be ashamed of how they’ve acted.
“They [the Royal Family] have Meghan treating her father in a way that Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, would have loathed. That’s not what Diana stood for,” Thomas told the Mail on Sunday.
