Fan photo sparks concerns for Johnny Depp
A new photo of Johnny Depp posted by a fan on social media has sparked concerns for his health among his fans.
The image shared on Instagram was taken in Russia, where Johnny is currently touring with his band, The Hollywood Vampires.
Posing with fans at the Four Seasons hotel in St. Petersburg before a show, the image shared online has lead many to believe the actor is ‘ill’.
“He looks ill, poor Johnny,” one concerned fan commented on the image.
“Why does he look like that,” asked another.
“He look so different, hope he’s ok,” was another comment.
“Is Johnny Depp on chemotherapy? Please get well,” another fan wrote.
While the actor does appear to look pale and thin in the image, where he can be seen wearing a dark T-shirt and jeans and a hat with the letters ‘FUGLY’ across the front, many fans quickly leapt to his defence.
Some said Depp had lost weight for a role.
“He could be working on a film that requires that look,” one person wrote.
“He’s still filming that movie about a dying man. Actors lose weight for roles,” another said.
Others just said that he was ageing and people should stop judging the 54-year-old’s appearance.
“A human being losing weight and ageing simultaneously…how very dare he,” was one person’s response.
“He doesn’t look sick to me, just like he’s ageing like everybody else does,” said another.
To be fair, Johnny has had a tough year.
Just last month Angelina Jolie reportedly decided to reach out to support Johnny, who was also recently embroiled in a lawsuit with his former management team.
“Johnny has his demons and Angelina can understand that,” an alleged insider told NW magazine.
It’s been a testing past few years for both Angelina and Johnny, who’ve been through high-profile splits in the public eye with their partners, Brad Pitt and Amber Heard, respectively.
“She’s told Johnny that she’s got his back and he’s really grateful to have her on side during this difficult time,” the source said.
“She’s one of the only people he can lean on right now.”
Last year Johnny was involved in a lawsuit against his former managers alleging they mismanaged his earnings continued, before a leaked email seemingly exposed the actor was aware of his dire financial situation back in 2009.
