Fans notice something very wrong with this photo
Jennifer Lawrence is doing the press rounds for her upcoming film Red Sparrow, but when her busy schedule took her and her co-stars to London this week, fans noticed something quite unsettling about their photo call.
The 27-year-old actress is seen posing on a hotel balcony in a stunning black dress inspired by Elizabeth Hurley’s famous safety pin gown.
She looks gorgeous, until you notice what her all male co-stars are dressed in and realise how incredibly freezing it must be.
The mercury didn’t rise above 9 degrees on Tuesday when the photos were taken, meaning actors Joel Edgerton, Jeremy Irons and Matthias Schoenaerts, as well as the film’s director Francis Lawrence, were all dressed very appropriately in their coats, jumpers and boots.
Fans were quick to notice the double standard and took to Twitter to express their disappointment.
This is such a quietly depressing (and revealing) image. Not least because I've been outside today and it's bloody FREEZING. pic.twitter.com/BRnmgKJ5wY

It must be about 3 degrees in London ATM, cold enough that the bloke actors have to wear coats and scarves to their press call and yet poor Jennifer Lawrence is wearing a small amount of fabric some might call a dress. pic.twitter.com/GoVfPscRWi

One person even Tweeted Versace, the designer of the actress' dress, asking, "Do you do coats? If so could #JenniferLawrence have one. London is cold at the moment."
Lawrence’s stylists Jill Lincoln and Jordan Johnson, probably pulled outfits in the double digits for the star to wear throughout this press tour, and their decision process behind this particular look has yet to come to light.
Hollywood's elite often get paid to wear big designer labels, which may have been the case here, but it's hard to imagine how the image would be received if things were the other way around and J-Law was rugged up while the men bared their chests and thighs.
While it fits in neatly with the conversations currently being had about women in Hollywood, as usual, not everyone on social media has the same opinion.
Did anyone bother to ask #JenniferLawrence If she was happy to pose in the dress? Maybe she was or even (heaven forbid) told her people she WANTED to do it! Depressing that assumptions are being made or have I missed her saying she was forced into it? https://t.co/T7YLC2ugbe

Also, who knows how many other things she's already said "no" to? This is the stuff that gets you branded "difficult" pic.twitter.com/X2yvFpmeUe

One person noted that we should wait until we hear Lawrence's side of the story before passing judgement, while another brought up and old interview in which the star says she was once criticised for standing up for herself.
In it, she says she was called 'difficult and a nightmare' for wanting her own way - an experience many women can share.
True equality means either Jennifer Lawrence getting a coat, or Jeremy Irons having to pose for a photocall in assless chaps.
