It’s been known that Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns has battled with mental illness in the past.
And now the Australian musician has opened up in a tell-all interview.
The highly-anticipated Daniel Johns interview with Andrew Denton aired on Channel 7 last night and fans were quick to praise the Silverchair frontman for his bravery.
The singer, who revealed he self-medicated with alcohol to manage a severe anxiety disorder, was candid in his approach and bravely confessed some of his darkest moments.
Taking to Twitter, fans shared their thoughts on his “talented” and “beautiful” mind and thanked him for “nailing” his explanation of anxiety.

During the interview, Daniel was very candid with about his private battles, prompting fans to reveal how uncomfortable they were.
During the interview, Denton spoke to the musician about his admission in Billboard magazine, that he wasn’t “mentally tough”.
“Did I say that?” Daniel asked.
“Yeh you did,” Denton says. “Do you feel fragile?”
Visibly shaken, Daniel revealed, “I do at times, yeh”.
“I think I get umm, it’s like an illness because I get…” he paused, “that’s what fuels my art. But you know, I wish I was stronger mentally than I am.”
