Plus-size model Ashley Graham has been slammed for losing weight

When plus-size model Ashley Graham posted a photo of herself in a crop top to Instagram last week, she probably didn’t think she’d receive the response she did.

The model appears slimmer in the photo compared to her previous images, but hey, she looks amazing and healthy.

In the comments section though, her fans have called her out for losing weight.

“Where are your curves?!” one user asked. “You’re looking super skinny,” another noted.

"I knew it you did lose a lot of weight! I am no longer a fan of yours you betrayed a lot of people! So I'll find another plus size beautiful woman because you're full of s--t!!! #damnshame #justliketherest," commented another.

Graham has experienced her fair share of body shaming in the past.

When she rocked the cover of Sports Illustrated in May earlier this year, controversial vlogger Nicole Arbour came out with “Dear Fat People,” in which she ranted on about how Graham goes against what usual Sports Illustrated models stand for, “the mecca of physical perfection.”

Another time, Graham alleged that a modelling agent once told her to "Put that Snickers bar down."

Despite all the controversy floating around social media, many jumped to defend the American model, saying, “You look awesome no matter what! Curvy or slim. Stuff the haters!”

“I'm really confused. Y'all shame her for being a plus-sized model but when she loses weight you shame her for losing it,” another said.

While some believe her new look doesn’t categorise her as a plus-size model anymore, they were still supportive of the model.

“She's not a plus size any more... Losing weight is good for your health and she looks gorgeous. Do whatever you love. It’s your life, it’s your body,” one user said.

After receiving an overwhelming 1600 comments and 106K likes, Graham responded to the backlash with the perfect response.

She shared a voluptuous photo of her rocking lingerie down a catwalk with the caption, “I will not let others dictate what they think my body should look like for their own comfort, and neither should you.”
