Kate Winslet, Nicole Kidman and Uma Thurman pose for the 2017 Pirelli calendar

The 2017 Pirelli calendar is breaking the mould again when it comes to what host of beauties will be gracing the pages, as this year it's a full-blown Hollywood screen siren bonanza.

The 44th edition of the hotly-anticipate calendar has previously featured Gigi Hadid, Joan Smalls and Adriana Lima, but this year, German photographer Peter Lindbergh has employed the talents of Nicole Kidman, Kate Winslet and Uma Thurman, to name a few, for the series.

In a newly released set of sexy images from the shoot, Lindbergh revealed that the nude portraits that usually adorn the pages of the Pirelli calendar will be replaced with images of "women of achievement".

In total, 15 A-listers have been photographed for the historic edition, including House of Cards star Robin Wright, Helen Mirren, Alice Vikander, Roony Mara, Jessica Chastain, Julianne Moore, Penelope Cruz.

Zhang Ziyi, Lupita Nyong'o, Lea Seydoux, Charlotte Rampling and entrepreneur Anastacia Ignatova round off the list.

The stunning, mostly black and white pictures, were taken over four weeks in May and June this year.

Speaking to Vogue, Lindbergh, who previously shot the Pirelli Calendar in 1996 and 2002, said the images were a "love song to the women I really know and really like."

"Everyone in this calendar, at one point in my life, I wanted to marry and I didn't have the balls to ask them," he said.

The world-famous Pirelli Calendar is known for featuring glamorous supermodels, however in 2016, Anna Leibovitch decided to shun tradition and shoot some of the world's most inspiring women.

Anna wanted to represent real women and enlisted actress Amy Schumer, tennis star Serena Williams and Chinese actress Yao Chen to star in the glossy pages.

Speaking about the new approach she took Anna said: "The 2000 Calendar was an exercise in photographing nudes".

"It was a simple concept. For 2016, we did something completely different, but it is still simple," she said.
