Whether you see the two-toned dress as white and gold, or blue and black, Daniel Howland, from Austin Texas, now has the infamous two-tone dress debate inked on the inside of his calf, the Daily Mail reports.

Choosing to go with the $100 Roman Originals dress’s official blue and black colours, the tattoo features an image of the viral photo and the text: 'WHITE AND GOLD?'

Explaining his reasons, Howland says: “it was one internet thing that I really couldn't wrap my brain around. It was very frustrating. Because of this, I thought it would be fun to get the dress tattooed on my leg,” he says.

“Either people really love it, or they think I'm a complete tool. Some of my friends also think I'm stupid for doing it. But my parents think it's really funny. I didn't see a reason not to have it done.”

He says he saw the dress as white and gold “for a brief period when I was drinking”, but now “definitely” sees blue and black. “That's why the tattoo is blue and black.'

This isn’t Howland’s first inking. “I usually get tattoos done because they're funny. I have a bear head tattooed on my foot, because I'm often barefooted, and I have a garbage fly on my eyelid.”

For those of you not ready for #TheDress to be forgotten, there's also a song.
