Father shares heart-wrenching domestic violence phone call

A father has shared the heart-wrenching phone call he received from his daughter, who was going through a domestic violence situation.

He has shared his story of helping his adult daughter through the horrible situation with the help of police from Counties Manukau in New Zealand’s North Island.

The audio (listen above) of the phone call released by the anonymous dad is truly difficult to hear.

His daughter can be heard sniffling, obviously upset as she explains that she’s been threatened that a family member would return to shoot her house.

She pleads with her dad to come and stay with her, barely able to keep her voice steady. But emotions eventually take hold and she breaks down.

Her final teary words: “Give me a call back… please.”

“I was scared, scared for my daughter, what’s going to happen to her,” the father reveals in the video.

“I jumped in my car and of course I went there.”

In the video the dad says Counties Manukau police attended his daughter’s house and intervened, before explaining his daughter was on the road to recovery seven months after the incident and was safely out of the situation.

“It was gut wrenching to realise that your own daughter was going through nearly torture in her own home and not being able to say anything to her parents,” he says.
