Fergie furious over 'disgusting bullying' of Princess Eugenie

Sarah Ferguson has proven she’s a fiercely protective mum by slamming an article written about her beloved daughter, Princess Eugenie.

The 58-year-old mum-of-two, who was married to Prince Andrew until 1996, took to her Instagram to slam Daily Mail columnist Jan Moir’s piece about her 28-year-old daughter’s upcoming wedding to Jack Brooksbank, on October 12.

In the article, Jan calls Eugenie about as ‘constitutionally important as one of the Queen’s corgis’ and questions her decision to marry at Windsor Castle, like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, claiming the young royal has ‘delusions of grandeur’.

The article goes on to claim Princess Eugenie ‘has done absolutely nothing to distinguish herself’ over the years and her lavish wedding only reveals a ‘hunger for glitz and royal glamour that is every bit as monstrous as Mother Fergie’s’.

Fergie didn’t take the article lying down and furiously took to her Instagram page to regram an open letter written by Sarah Wade, who is CEO and co-founder of Humanitas Charity, of which the Duchess of York is a patron.

“Couldn’t agree more with this letter about the disgusting article that Jan Moir wrote about @princesseugenie and Jack,” Fergie wrote.

Fergie went on to call the op-ed ‘bullying at its premium’.

The open letter detailed how ‘appalled’ the charity CEO is at the ‘vitriol expressed in the piece’.

“I would like to draw into question the purpose of the feature, is it to make a young couple feel embarrassed or ashamed of the choices they have made for their wedding day or is it to incite anger and hatred towards them? Either way, the outcome is negative and tantamount to bullying,” Sarah Wade wrote.

“The rhetoric is inflammatory and divisive, suggesting that the Princess has a ‘hunger for glitz and glamour that is every bit as monstrous as Mother’s Fergie’s’ and making the ill-search judgement that the Princess has done ‘almost nothing of note’.

“I would like to raise into question whether Jan Moir has ever met or spent time with Princess Eugenie.”

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank will marry on October 12th at Windsor Castle.

Just like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the couple announced that they will be inviting 1200 members of the public to join them on their big day.
