Flight number changed after psychic’s prediction

A warning from a psychic has reportedly caused a Brazilian airline to change the flight number of one of its routes.

TAM Airlines changed the number for a flight from Sao Paulo to Brasilia after renowned psychic Jucelino Nobrega da Luz predicted that flight JJ3720 would develop engine trouble and crash, the Daily Mail reported.

The airline changed the flight code to JJ4732, reportedly stating that passenger security was always paramount.

According to the Daily Mail, Nobrega da Luz claims to have predicted the deaths of racecar driver Ayrton Senna and Princess Diana, but several of his predictions have not come true, including the discovery of a cure for AIDS in 2008.

However, the Daily Telegraph reported that the airline told a local newspaper the number was not changed because of the psychic’s warning and the flight does not fly over Paulista Ave, the predicted crash site.

According to the NY Post, airline superstition around numbers is not uncommon, with carriers refusing to schedule flights with the numbers 13, 666 or 911.

Some even leave out a row 13 on board planes and some airlines stop using the flight numbers of planes that have crashed.
