East London wine bar Sager + Wilde Paradise Row has concocted the creepy-crawly cocktail, using ice cubes containing wood ants which slowly mix into your drink.

"As the ice cubes melt the bugs are released into the cocktail," mixologist and drink creator Marcis Dzelzainis explains.

"They contain formic acid, which tastes of lemons, pairing nicely with the drink's other ingredients - Hobgoblin Gold ale, pink peppercorns, bay leaves, vermouth and white tea."

"It is a cocktail inspired by the kind of foods you might find in a woodland environment."

The cocktail is only available from October 24 to November 6, and no word yet on what the ants actually taste like...
