Top Chef Luke Mangan's foray into fast food
Another top chef is making fried food into a guilt-free, healthy(ish) affair.
Luke Mangan of Glass Brasserie has branched into the world of fast-food with Chicken Confidential at Sydney's Chifley Plaza.
The menu is delish (for a food court offering!) boasting wraps, delicious salads, sides, homemade sauces, and classic and naked beef and chicken burgers.
Luke uses organic chicken for the signature fried chicken burgers but the price point is still reasonable - around the $12 mark.
Be threw out the Mardi Gras diet for a day and tried nearly everything on the menu - all in the name of work of course.
The Yes Ma'am burger item (southern style fried organic chicken burger, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickle, and confidential sauce) has just the perfect hit of buttermilk batter for fatty-food lovers.
We also had The Big Cheese made with a homemade beef patty - cooked medium - with double American-style, cheese tangy pickles, lettuce tomato relish, and yummy confidential sauce. It's yummy without being sloppy. Very important.
Definitely recommend the shoestring sweet potato fries with epic Maccas-style Big Mac sauce.
Luke hopes to open 10 Chicken Confidential outlets over the next year so expect one popping up at a food court near you soon.
