“I looked over and noticed light was being refracted through a water bottle and starting to catch the seat on fire,” he said.

Dioni had put the water bottle in the centre console, and admits the sunlight coming in through his driver’s side window was enough to cause the damage to the car seats.

“I was a little bit surprised, I actually had to do a double take," he said. "It was super hot… hot enough to burn a hole through the seat.”

The video then sees the temperature being meaured as the sunlight is magnified by the bottle, and registering around 100 degrees.
