What Prince George will be feasting on when he starts school this week

When the future king of England starts school this week you can bet he won’t be stuck with a ham and cheese sandwich for lunch.

Or even worse, having to work his way through a slightly lacklustre school canteen menu.

Instead, Prince George will be feasting on exactly what you would expect a $28,000-a-year school tuition fee would get you.

His parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are sending the four-year-old to Thomas's Battersea, an independent school in southwest London.

On his first day on Thursday, Prince George will no doubt draw some attention, decked out in a navy v-neck jumper, matching Bermuda-style shorts, long red socks and black shoes.

But the school’s menu is definitely something to look forward to.

The third in line to the throne will be able to feast on organic fruit, vegetables, egg and meat.

He can choose from a host of delicacies like a lamb ragout with garlic and fresh herbs – of course served with organic grated cheese, carrots and cucumber.

There will be Mediterranean couscous and baked smoked mackerel on a bed of puy lentils.

Even the dessert sounds delicious – oatmeal and raisin cookies, banana milkshakes, a steamed jam and coconut sponge and custard.

Wonder if there is a way we can sneak some leftovers.
