Candy cane chips are the festive treat no one asked for

Long gone are the days when you would expect some nuts and mini chocolate snack bars in you trick or treat bag, because the Halloween treats have just stepped up a level.

Tesco have released a new variety of candy cane flavoured chips – and we’re not sure how we feel about it.

We love chips, we love candy canes, but together, we don’t even think sugar-loving kids would go for these chips.

The random variety are selling for just £1.00 on UK supermarket chain Tesco’s website.

“Hand cooked crisps seasoned and dusted with a sweet peppermint flavouring for a sweet and salty taste experience,” the website reads.

However, for those who were expecting chips in an array of colours to come out of the bag, they’ll be sorely disappointed as they are just pink.

A person called Elliot Hackney took to Twitter to share an image of the pack of chips, alongside the caption: “Stop this now, @Tesco.”

“Hi Elliot; maybe a bit soon for you, but I do hope you enjoy this tasty treat! Candy Cane crisps, I never expected that flavour! - Mat :)” Tesco replied.
