The Real Purpose For The Wooden End Of Chopsticks Will Blow Your Mind

First we found out that we've been cutting cake wrong, then we realised there's a genius way of perfectly breaking off a piece of Toblerone and yet again our minds have been blown, after realising there's a perfectly reasonable explanation as to why there's a wooden piece at the end of our chopsticks.

Well according to Twitter, the large wooden piece at the end of the chopsticks is supposed to be used as a tiny footstool for the chopsticks when you're done tucking into your delicious Japanese food.

It stops the chopsticks getting dirty and keeps them off the table.
