Mac and cheese waffles are your new fave food hybrid
Move over, basic chocolate waffles, your long-lost savoury cousins are here to take over the Sydney food scene.
Introducing mac ‘n’ cheese waffles. House-made creamy mac ‘n’ cheese, toasted in a hospitality-grade waffle iron, and drizzled with Canadian maple syrup.
It’s like a cheese toastie scenario made entirely of crispy, buttered goodness and you can get around the delightful dish at Sydney bar Since I Left You.
Not keen on cheese? Nick White and his team have a whole waffle menu to choose from.
Take their Waffalafels for instance. Crispy waffle-cooked Falafels, served with Lemon Tahini Sauce or the crunchy waffle-cooked Hash Brown, with smoked ocean trout and crème fraiche.
Since I Left You has been a favourite CBD bar for years, pulling in the after work crew as well as young people, keen for a drink in the fairy-lit alleyway or leafy courtyard.
Nick’s recently revamped the space and rebranded his menu.
His famous guac and toasties are still up for grabs (ahem, there’s a cheeseburger toastie!) but he’s trailblazing the food scene by being one of the first spots in Sydney to bring the California/Hawaiian Poke bowls to the people.
Poke is fresh sashimi in a bowl with loads of texture and flavour in the form of shredded kale, cabbage, rice, veggies, beans, spices and Macadamia nuts for crunch.
Perfect for your work lunch break.
The lads have a lot going on the weekends too, including trivia nights, hip hop brunches and live music events.
