White Cadbury Creme Egg debacle gets worse
It’s the Willy Wonka-esque competition that has chocolate fans scrambling to find the hidden white Cadbury Creme Eggs.
With a reported prize of up to $3,500 on offer, the competition has already come under fire following reports some less-than-hygienic customers and shop workers are surreptitiously unwrapping scores of eggs to try and find them.
Now it seems another fatal flaw in the competition has been revealed.
Manufacturers have confirmed there’s an extremely easy way to identify the white eggs, which are only available in UK.
While the foil packaging might look the same, read the fine print and you’ll see they’re not.
"All white Cadbury Creme Eggs, while wrapped in the same iconic packaging as the classic Creme Egg, will contain nutritional information that is specific to the white chocolate variant,” Cadbury told The Mirror.
With 371 eggs released into the wild, people have already taken to Twitter at their disgust at the levels people are stooping to nab themselves the rare treat.
Went to buy a Cadbury creme egg today and every single one had a tiny hole in the foil where someone had ripped to find a white egg.. you humans are vile and Easter is cancelled

And the odds on buying one that hasn't been unwrapped to see if it's a white choc one or not and therefore, touched by someone else first? 😱
