Croissant lovers get ready to kiss your diet goodbye because there’s a new food hybrid in town and it might just be the best one yet.
Foodies, meet the Tacro – the delicious love child between a croissant and a taco – and it’s every bit as outrageously Instagrammable as you’d imagine.
The culinary brainchild of Vive Le Tarte bakery in San Francisco, this flakey little number combines all the flavours of a Mexican taco with the buttery outer shell of a croissant.
Reportedly taking two months to perfect, the Tacros come in a variety of flavours including chicken and avocado, pulled pork and pineapple, and BBQ jackfruit – and there’s plans to extend to a breakfast menu.
“One of the things we're trying to do with Vive La Tarte is to find that balance between tradition, doing things right... and making things fun and interesting,' co-owner Arnaud Goethals told Eater SF.
We’re tipping it’s only a matter of time before your local café is all about the tacro too.
