- 400g lean beef mince
3/4 cup fresh wholemeal breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon parsley, chopped
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 egg white, lightly whisked
mixed salad, such as lettuce, tomato and cucumber
2 wholegrain rolls, halved and toasted
Beetroot Relish, see step 4
1. In a medium bowl, combine beef mince, onion, breadcrumbs, parsley, Worcestershire sauce and eggwhite. Mix well. Divide into 4 even patties.
2. Preheat oven to moderate 180°C. Heat a frying pan over a high heat. Cook burgers for 2 min each side. Transfer to a baking tray and cook 10 min or until done to your liking.
3. Place salad between each bun, top with cooked burgers and a spoonful of relish. Garnish with chives.
4. Beetroot Relish: Grate 2 fresh medium-size beetroot and place into a pan with 1/4 cup red wine vinegar, 1/4 cup water and 1 tablespoon brown sugar. Simmer over low heat 15 min until thickened.
