Georgie Gardner jokes about Karl Stefanovic 'feud'
Following Karl Stefanovic’s ‘ubergate’ scandal, we’re sure many people have been trying to suss if there’s any bad blood between himself and fellow Today co-host Georgie Gardner.
During this morning’s show, Georgie may have given a bit of a hint into the state of her working relationship with good ol’ Karl.
Whilst Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes was on the show, the subject of whether the co-hosts will be sitting together (or not) at this year’s Logie Awards came up.
“We’ve got to keep up the ruse that we actually like each other,” Georgie said.
Of course, she was joking – we think.
And as you’d expect, Karl offered some banter right back to Georgie.
“It would be great to see Georgie feature [in Dave’s Logies roast],” the 43-year-old quipped.
“No it wouldn’t, actually,” Georgie replied.
Then Karl, being the little schoolboy joker he can be, made a series of funny faces behind his co-host’s back.
Banter taken to the next level
Meanwhile, Hughesy seemed to find the pair’s teasing endearing.
Back in March, New Idea published an interview with an Uber driver, who claimed to have heard an explosive 45-minute conversation between Karl and his younger brother Peter, in which the Gold Logie winner said Georgie needed to ‘step up’ after taking over Lisa Wilkinson’s hosting role.
Then later that month, Georgie smugly called Karl ‘pathetic’ during a segment about sausage dogs.
“You’ve got to face your fears, Karl,” newsreader Deborah Knight said at the time.
“Well, that’s right. That’s coming up, don’t you worry about that,” Georgie then added.
At this point, a defensive Karl said, “I sense a little sarcasm in your voice”.
“Well, it’s probably about now I should call you pathetic,” Georgie responded.
We will certainly be keeping an eye out for those Logies seating arrangements this weekend.
