This Emmys proposal stopped the entire awards show
If there’s one moment that we’d say won the 2018 Emmy Awards, it’d be this one.
Director Glenn Weiss stopped the show when he romantically proposed to his girlfriend Jan in front of the television industry.
“You wonder why I don’t like to call you my girlfriend? Because I want to call you my wife,” he said on stage at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
The 57-year-old won a gong for Outstanding Directing for a Variety special for the Oscars.
Accepting his award, the director said it was a “bitter sweet” moment as his mother, who passed away two weeks ago, would’ve been “most proud”.
“Part of my heart is broken; I don’t think it will ever be repaired… Mom always believed in looking for the sunshine in things, and she loved my girlfriend Jan,” he told the audience.
“You wonder why I don’t like to call you my girlfriend? Because I want to call you my wife,” he continued.

At this moment the star-studded audience was swept with emotion and excitement.
“I haven’t even asked yet!” Weiss then said, as the celebrities started standing up to make way for Jan.
A shocked Jan eventually made her way up to the stage and of course, said yes.
